Outstanding GCSE results: 100% for Latymer Upper pupils!

Pupils at Latymer Upper School are celebrating another excellent year of GCSE results with over half of the year group achieving at least 8 A* grades.

All pupils passed all GCSEs taken – 100% A*-C grades
Over 70% of grades at A*
Over 90% of grades at A*/A
35 students achieved at least 10 A* grades
90 pupils achieved at least 8 A* grades – well over half of the year group
128 pupils achieved at least 5 A* grades
Over 1140 A* grades were gained by pupils across the year

There are many inspiring individual stories this year including:

Fencing champion and member of Team GB Josh Willcox who, having spent a busy year competing on the prestigious European Cadet Fencing Circuit now adds 10A*s to his remarkable sporting achievements.

Maddie Lloyd, 10A*s, and Georgina Seal, 9A*s and 1A, have reason to celebrate in a year that has seen them both chosen for the GB rowing squad.

Twins Felix and Cecile Ramin celebrate their joint success, gaining 20A*s between them – 10A*s and 1A each!

Otto Barrow, who helps run the School’s newspaper ‘The Latymer Standard’ and JS Mill debates, achieved an impressive 11A* 1A and 1B.

Fadi Iman and Masood Khalid, who both attended Leopold Primary School prior to joining Latymer on a bursary, celebrate a fantastic set of grades. Fadi gained 6A*s, 3As, and 1B and Masood 6 A*s, 2As and 2Bs.

Talented music scholar Edward Esiri-Bloom, who has featured in many of the music department’s performances, celebrates 10A*s.

Alex Wright, who helps to run the pupil-led Bursaries Appeal club RAISE, found time in his busy schedule to achieve 10A*s.

They bear the Latymer hallmark of being well-rounded individuals who, as well as achieving academically, pursue many of the co-curricular options on offer at Latymer. Having joined the School on the same day in 2012 as this talented Y11 cohort, I very much look forward to following their progress in the sixth form.”
