Latymer welcomed 24 students from six different schools to our Art History Café, to debate what Jackson Pollock was expressing in his painting ‘Number 1 a.’
Student groups from West London Free School, Godolphin, St Paul’s Girls, Harrodian and Notting Hill & Ealing, along with Latymerians, wrote an exhibition label for the painting from the point of view of the media, Jungian analysts, biographers, feminists and art critics.
An intellectually stimulating session, students enjoyed the experience so much that plans for future meetings next term are already in place.
We look forward to the next Art History Café debate!
