Empowering Entrepreneurs

Over the past 6 weeks students from Year 11 and Lower Sixth have been taking part in the first Latymer ‘Empowering Entrepreneurs’ course.

The ‘Empowering Entrepreneurs’ course is the brainchild of  Latymer parent, Oliver Woolley and a first for Latymer. Oliver is CEO and Co-Founder of Envestors. Oliver sits on the Board of the UK Crowdfunding Association (UKCFA) and sat on the Board of the UK Business Angels Association (UKBAA) from 2006 to 2014. He is also a Member of Court at Imperial College (London).

During the course students have had an induction into the world of business. The culmination of the course is a Dragon’s Den style event in which our budding entrepreneurs will pitch their business plans to our three Dragons: Fran Boorman, Nick Temple and Rich Davidson. The winning team will receive a cash prize and the coveted, ‘Empowering Entrepreneurs: The Oliver Woolley Cup’.

After the pitches, there will be a chance to relax and for the students and event attendees to talk with our Dragons and the Empowering Entrepreneur teams before the winners are announced.
