Latymer Upper Students Celebrate University Offers 2024

As our Class of 2024 reach their final A Level exams, we are so proud to announce that almost 180 of our Latymerians hold firm conditional offers at UK universities and over 30 have been accepted to international universities across Canada, Europe and the US.

25  of our Latymer Upper students have offers for Oxford and Cambridge with a further 25 for Imperial, UCL or LSE in London, and over 30 are planning for their degrees at Durham or Edinburgh. Around 85% of offers are Russell Group institutions with several more at Bath and St Andrews.

The range of offers from European and US institutions is incredibly diverse: Flagship public research universities, such as McGill in Canada, Sciences Po in France, Leiden University College in the Netherlands and the Universities of Virginia and Vermont in the USA.

Alongside these, places have been offered at leading private universities: Bocconi in Italy, IE University and ESADE in Spain and Columbia and in the US: Cornell, Duke, Northwestern, NYU, Penn, Rice, UChicago and Stanford.

Our students also had offers from technological institutes: Georgia Tech, Liberal arts colleges like Middlebury College and Wesleyan University, specialised institutions, such as EHL Hospitality Business School in Switzerland and Humanitas University for medicine.

Our  bursary holders – of whom 32 of 34 have made a UCAS application – all successfully hold ‘firm’ conditional offers with all 6 applicants for Medicine holding offers, (inc Oxford and Imperial) and with others at Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, Edinburgh, Loughborough, Durham and Bath.

A huge congratulations to everyone and particular mentions go to those who have received significant scholarships

Lucas has received the Chancellor’s Achievement Scholarship at the University of Colorado Boulder and the International Admission Award Scholarship from Queen’s University in Canada; Georgia was awarded merit scholarships from George Washington University and the University of Vermont; Rhea, merit scholarships from Case Western Reserve University, Tulane and the University of Georgia. Tej was selected as a finalist for the University of Virginia’s Jefferson Scholarship and Yuv, our School Captain, received scholarships from Rice and the University of Southern California.

Saanya Gulati, Latymer’s Head of International University Advising, said:

“Over 100 Latymerians have enrolled at an international university in the last three years and this trend has continued to grow stronger. While the US remains a popular international university destination, we have also seen a growing interest in European university destinations, especially in this past application cycle.

We have also had a student accepted to the Dual BA Program between Sciences Po and Columbia university, underscoring the diverse academic interests and ambitions within the cohort.

As an advising team, our goal is to continue helping students explore these exciting new opportunities and guide them toward their best-fit of university and programme by offering personalised guidance through their application journey.”
