Latymerians’ musical talents chime with examiners

Congratulations to our multi-talented students who did outstandingly well in their music exams last term!

Standards were very high across a plethora of instruments, and of particular note are:

Year 11 student Stella (pictured here) who was awarded a Licentiate of Trinity College London (LTCL) diploma from Trinity College of Music, for cello. This is equivalent in standard to the final year recital of an undergraduate degree, which students would usually take at around 22 years old! The Head, Mr Goodhew, presented Stella with her certificate at the whole school assembly to much cheering and applause from staff and students.

Year 12 student Alexia who was also awarded a diploma from Trinity College of Music, an ATCL which is equivalent in standard to the first year recital of an undergraduate degree

Sixth formers Oscar (singing) and Michaela (trumpet) who achieved distinctions in their grade 8 ABRSM exams as did Year 8 student Leonidas (flute).

Mr Henwood, Director of Music said: “A huge congratulations to all of our students for these incredible achievements.”
