Kieran Murphy, Chair of Governors at The Latymer Foundation announced today that the Governing Body has appointed Susan Wijeratna to be the new Head of Latymer Upper School. She will start in September 2023, succeeding David Goodhew, who is stepping down after ten years of exceptional leadership of the School.
“Su’s passion and ambition for Latymer as well as her experience, skills and educational philosophy made her stand out from a very strong field of exceptional candidates. Su is an excellent fit and will help us to deliver our vision for the School.” said Kieran Murphy.
“I am honoured to be appointed as the new Head of Latymer Upper School and to have the opportunity to continue the outstanding work of David Goodhew,” said Susan Wijeratna. “As a forward-thinking school that combines excellence with innovation and which is defining how independent schools can make a genuine and meaningful contribution to their community, Latymer’s ethos chimes with my own values. To be leading the Latymer Foundation into the next phase of its history in its 400th year and to build on the School’s ambition to be both the leading co-educational school in the UK and one of the most socially inclusive, is a great privilege and one that I am very much looking forward to.”
