Planning Approved for Quintin Hogg Memorial Ground

Planning Approved for Quintin Hogg Memorial Ground

I am delighted to inform you that our planning application for redevelopment works at the Quintin Hogg Memorial Sports Ground was approved at the Hounslow Council Planning Committee meeting last night (Thursday 7 December). The application was submitted with the support of our assigned Hounslow planning officer following months of detailed works into all elements of the proposal, from construction and transport to ecology and technical sports and support facility provision.

As anticipated, the approval is aligned to some conditions before and during the redevelopment works period, and once the site is fully reopened for use.  Key to these conditions is Latymer’s long standing commitment to support the local community through usage beyond our students and alumni, with a programme of access opportunities for grassroots sport and the continuation of relationships with long standing site users including Richmond Hockey Club and Polytechnic Football Club.

We are expecting to start the redevelopment programme at the end of January 2024, with completion in early September.  The site will remain open (with adjustments to incorporate the works) whilst the grass pitches are levelled and re-laid (and cricket reintroduced) and the new artificial surfaces built.  Further renovations will include improvements to the car park and site signage and security.

This is a significant milestone for our school, and the redevelopment project marks a new chapter in enhancing the overall sporting experience for our students and the wider community. We extend huge thanks to our generous donors and to everyone who has progressed the project to this point.

If you have any questions about the plans for Quintin Hogg, please take a look at our FAQs below. Any further enquiries about the project can be sent to chiswick@latymer-upper.org.

All best wishes,

Susan Wijeratna
