This Spring Term audiences have been treated to four outstanding concerts performed by our students.
At the beginning of March, Latymer’s Symphony Orchestra performed Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto before a thrilling finale of Beethoven’s No. 1 Piano Concerto.
Kitty showcased incredible talent and composure as the violin soloist for the Mendelssohn Concerto, before Luke, also in Y13, produced a breath-taking performance for Beethoven’s piano concerto. Both left the audience in stunned silence before receiving a hearty ovation.
Just ten days later the Orchestral and Jazz Concert in the Edward Latymer Theatre featured items by the Latymer Orchestra, Concert Band, Chamber Orchestra, Wind Band and a number of our jazz ensembles, including Big Band and The L@tinmer Pupi Tribute Band.
The Chamber Music Concert featured beautiful performances by the guitar, flute and string ensembles as well as solo performances from Sixth Formers, Max, Sevan and Stanley on the electric guitar, piano and acoustic guitar respectively.
Just before the end of term, the Lower School Choir and the Latymer Consort led the Choral Concert in the Main Hall with the Chamber Choir and Schola Cantorum joining forces to perform Bob Chilcott’s Little Jazz Mass.
