Last week, we hosted the hugely popular Strictly Latymer, showcasing 11 couples from our Lower Sixth and Upper Sixth pupils, as well as several brilliant performances by our younger pupils. Auditions were open to all our sixth-formers, absolute beginners included, and we were thrilled to have so many keen participants.
Carryl Thomas, our well-loved professional actor and dance coach taught our couples some complex and impressive routines – ranging from tango to hip hop – in just a handful of lessons.
The atmosphere was electric as students showcased their talent in a series of incredible performances. On Thursday, the winners were Charlie and Violet, whose athletic, flawless routine, and impeccable chemistry as Danny and Sandy from Grease wowed the judges and audience alike. The excitement continued on Friday, where Paddy and Jimena took home the top prize, impressing everyone with their precision, creativity, and passion to the tune of Another Day of Sun from iconic movie La La Land. Both nights were buzzing with energy, skill, and unforgettable moments, making it an event to remember for everyone involved.
‘It has been a delight watching the students having fun, gaining confidence and learning many new skills over the past months.’ – Clémentine Desmons, Head of Dance
The event also successfully raised funds for the vital work of charities UNICEF and Shelter.
A massive congratulations to all those involved for their dedication and efforts in making the night a truly memorable and impactful occasion!
